About NSEP
NSEP 2019 Application has been started from 1 August 2019. The link to the NSEP 2019 application is available on this page. National Standard Examination in Physics (NSEP) is conducted by Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT) is the first step for the worldwide Olympiad in Physics. On qualifying NSEP 2019, eligible students will be able to participate in the Indian National Physics Olympiad (A qualifying stage of International Physics Olympiad). This examination is conducted every year since 1987 and today, more than 40,000 students at over 1200 centres across the nation appear in NSEP every year. NSEP is carried out in multiple languages. NSEP 2019 Registration
NSEP 2019 Registration has been started. 1.Candidates can apply through their school/college only for National Search Examination in Physics through this page.
2.Candidates are advised to check NSEP Eligibility Criteria before filling the NSEP Registration Form. The steps to fill the NSEP

- NSEP 2019 Exam Date will be conducted 24 November 2019 (8:30 AM to 10:30 AM)
- The candidates can write NSEP 2019 in 4 languages i.e. Hindi, English, Bangla, and Gujarati
Candidates have to register through their schools or registered centres. The registration form of the National Standard Examination in Physics can only be filled by the Institutions. The registration fee for NSEP 2019 is 150 rupees. The steps of filling the form are also given below.

- STEP 1: The schools have to follow the link given below in order to apply for the NSEP Olympiad.
- STEP 2: The schools have to fill the KV code to further fill the application form.
- STEP 3: After that, the schools have to fill all the required details such as Principal’s Name, Principal’s Email Id, No of candidates for the test etc.
- STEP 4: After filling all the details, it is the sole responsibility of the schools to check all the details filled by them are correct in all aspect. They should click on the "Apply" button after inspecting the details.
- STEP 5: An OTP will be sent to the Principal’s Mobile Number which should be filled in the “Registration Confirmation/ Activation Form which will confirm the registration.
Submission of the Application Form
The candidates who have filled the application form should submit the same to complete the application process. Before the final submission of the application form, the candidates should make sure that they have filled the correct details on the form.
NSEP Admit Card 2019 - Download Online
NSEP Admit Card will be available to download for the candidates to appear in the examination scheduled to be conducted on 24 November 2019. The dates for the same will be notified later.
The admit card is an important document to be carried at the examination centre. The link to download the admit card will be available below. The candidates have to enter their username and password to download the admit card.

NSEP Reward
Applicants on qualifying NSEP will be able to participate in the Indian National Olympiad in Physics (A qualifying exam for participation in the International Olympiad in Physics)
Other Awards & certificates
- Certificates will be given to top 10% students of each centre (List of centres is available in the ‘Application Mode & Process Section’)
- Merit certificates will be given to the top 1% student in each subject
- Special Merit Certificate and a book to National top 1% of students
- Top 35 students will receive Gold Medals
Note: Gold medalists in NSEP, after completing their education, may join DAE

NSEP Answer Key 2019
The candidates will be able to check NSEP Answer Key 2019 as soon as it releases by following the link available below. NSEP Answer Key 2019 is expected to be released in the first week of December 2019, however, there is no official date has been announced regarding the same. NSEP Result 2019 - Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT) will release the result of NSEP 2019 shortly. Students will be able to check the NSEP 2019 result online on iapt.org.in. NSEP result will be uploaded in the form of pdf wherein students can check their roll number, name, total score and school details. IAPT NSEP 2019-20 (National Standard Examination in Physics) was conducted on November 24, 2019. Approx 300- 400 students will be selected for INOs, to be held on February 1 & 2, 2020. Only the NSEP qualifiers will be called to appear for Indian National Olympiad (INO). All students will be able to access their scores by using roll number and date of birth as user name and password, respectively. Students will receive certificates in the first week of February 2020. Students who successfully pass the Stage 1, 2 & 3 of NSEP will receive a Gold Medal and can join DAE directly through an interview without appearing in any entrance exam. How to Check NSEP Result 2019?
In order to check the scores in the IAPT NSEP result, students should know the entire process. A separate list for Class 11th & Class 12th students will be issued. Below are the steps to check the NSEP result 2019-
- Go to the official web portal, http://iapt.org.in
- On the home page, a link referring to “ List Of Students Selected for INO 2019”
- Click the same to check the list of shortlisted candidates. If your name is not mentioned in the list, then you are not qualified for the next level, Indian National Olympiad (INO).
- In the list, a link to check the IAPT NSEP result 2019 will be provided.
- Students should enter the asked details in the provided blanks to check the scores.
- NSEP result 2019 will be available for all students.

What After NSEP Result 2019?
A total of 300 eligible students will be selected for the second stage Indian National Olympiad for Physics (INPhO). These students must secure equal to greater than minimum admissible scores (MAS) which are 50% of the average of the top 10 students across the nation. Students who qualify the Stage 1 written test i.e. NSEP and satisfy the minimum age, pre-college status and more will be called for stage II. After the IAPT NSEP Result 2019, the exam authority will also release the NSEP Question papers 2019
INPhO 2019 Registration
- Selected students have to register for Indian National Olympiad (INO) exam for Physics, conducted by Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education.
- The link for INO registration will be activated after the NSEP result 2019 announcement on the HBCSE webpage: https://secure.hbcse.tifr.res.in/ino
- Entre roll number and date of birth as user name and password, respectively in the given blanks
- Click on “Login” to access the form.
- Students should note that INO registration is mandatory for all NSEP qualifiers.
- INO result will be announced in the month of February 2020.
What after After INPhO Result?
- Top 35 students of INPho will be called for Orientation Cum Selection Camp (OCSC) in respective subjects for two weeks at Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education, Mumbai.
- Based on the performance in INPho, the Indian team will participate in the International Olympiads 2020.
- Top 5 INPho qualifiers will get an opportunity to take part in the Asian Physics Olympiad Program (APhO), to be held in 1st week of May 2020.
Benefits of Taking NSEP
- Students who successfully qualify the NSEP and INPhO will receive a Gold Medal and can directly join the DAE (Department of Atomic Energy) through an interview without appearing in any entrance exam.
- Students who want to pursue B.Sc. (with physics) after NSEP are eligible for scholarships.
